The Toledo, Ohio, based corporation, Dana has announced that will supply carrier differentials and propshafts to Toyota South Africa for the 2005 Hilux pick-up truck. The Hilux is built on the same platform as the Toyota Tacoma. Dana plans to manufacture these products at its existing assembly facility in Uitenhage, South Africa, where it currently produces axles. Production is scheduled to begin in 2005. Dana already supports this Toyota pick-up platform by providing axles, propshafts, and frames out of facilities in South America, and propshafts and frames out of facilities in North America.
