With several new appointments, Mazda North American Operations, responsible for the sales and marketing, customer parts and service support of Mazda vehicles in the US, is attempting to make major organizational changes in its Marketing Division and Product Development and Strategy Division (PDS). Robert T. Davis has been named to a newly created position, Senior Vice President of PDS, replacing Kristen Simmons, vice president of Marketing Operations. He will be in charge of the Marketing Division as well as PDS. Another two positions have been created directly reporting to Davis. As Director Marketing, Eric Johnston will be responsible for all operational marketing functions. As Director of Product Strategy, an as yet unannounced Mazda appointee will oversee product marketing and advanced activities groups.
